John Milburn

Private John Milburn served as an apprentice at Noble & Lund Felling, training as a machine tool fitter until he was called up for National Service on 6 September 1952. He was sent to Borden, Hants for training and joined 5 Platoon, B Company, 1st Battalion DLI. After a period in Berlin, he was sent to Korea to fight in the War there. He was discharged from the Regiment on 20 September 1953 and joined the Territorial Army as part of 17th Battalion Parachute Regiment. He was discharged on 6th September 1957.
